Digie Sigit placed his artwork “Ibu Maria” in Yogyakartas public space.
Maria is a great women we met in the mountains of East Tyrol. For our interview she talked to us about her experiences in the postwar-period in Austria.
Her wish is that nobody in this world has to experience things like war anymore.
She is so thankful about her peaceful lifeconditions right now and calls especially the young people to understand that violence never brought anything good to anyone.
If we watch the news these days, we know that her message is more relevant than ever.
On Friday 26th of September, Digie Sigit hold an Artist Talk about the working process of our TIROLESIA #2 project at Indonesian Visual Art Archive IVAA in Jogjakarta.
Sigit shared his experiences from his residency and the working process of the TIROLESIA#2 project in Austria.
He was accompanied by Jonthon, a streetart researcher from Bronx, USA
We are thankful for this great opportunity to get feedback and new impulses.

Meeting, greeting and a great gift from Digie Sigit to the Indonesian Ambassador Pak Rachmat Budiman. Sigits artwork: “Solidarity with Bali”, stencil on MDF, 2014.
